Chip & Dale
http://www.choose-gifts.co.uk/
Chip ‘n Dale are two animated chipmunks created by The Walt Disney Company. Their names are a pun based on the name “Chippendale” . This was suggested by Bill “Tex” Henson, a story artist at the studio. Originally the two had the same colored noses, but as a way to tell them apart, Chip was given a black nose and Dale was given a red nose.
According to Disney, Chip is the logical schemer, and Dale is the dumb schemer. An easy way to visually tell them apart is that Chip has a small black nose (it looks a bit like a chocolate “Chip” as a way to help people remember who is who) and one centered protruding tooth, whereas Dale has a big red nose and his two prominent buck teeth exposed. Chip is also depicted as having smooth, short fur atop his head while Dale’s tends to be ruffled. Chip and Dale are V.I.P. members of the Mickey Mouse Club.
We have a small selection of Chip ‘n Dale figures & figurines & they can be found within our Disney section by clicking here:

Who is Tigger?
www.choose-gifts.co.uk
Tigger is a fictional tiger-like character originally introduced in A. A. Milne’s book The House at Pooh Corner. He is easily recognised by his orange and black stripes, beady eyes, a long chin, springy tail, and his bouncy personality. As he says himself, “Bouncing is what Tiggers do best.” Like other Pooh characters, Tigger is based on one of Christopher Robin Milne’s stuffed animals.
He is cheerful, outgoing, competitive in a friendly way, and completely confident in himself. Some of the things which he claims Tiggers can do include flying, jumping further than a kangaroo, swimming, and climbing trees. He never actually attempts any of the first three things in the course of the story, but he does try to climb a tree. He only succeeds half-way, being able to climb up but not to climb down again. Tigger also says Tiggers “never get lost”; unlike most of his other claims, this one seems to be true – he is able to find his way through the Forest even in a thick mist, despite Rabbit’s attempts to lose him.
Some of our Tigger products include Figures, figurines & glass ornaments. To see our figures & figurines please click here. To see our Tigger & Disney glass ornaments please click here.

Donald Duck is 75 years old Today !!
He is the most curmudgeonly character in a star-studded Disney line up that includes Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto.
Donald Duck — the irrascible but unflappable waterfowl — is preparing to be feted in grand fashion, as he turns 75 years old today. From the beginning, fabled cartoonist Walt Disney envisioned Donald Duck as a foil to Mickey Mouse, his good-as-gold, animated star created a half-dozen years earlier. While goody-two-shoes Mickey was most appealing to children, Disney sought to create in Donald Duck a more piquant character with adult appeal — and succeeded beyond his wildest dreams.
In his 75 years, his feathered anti-hero has tried his hand at more than 100 different professions, but failed at them all. Donald always seems to be short of cash and make a habit of lurching from one misadventure to the next. But no matter how often thwarted and how deeply humiliated, Donald Duck forges on — which is what has made him such a big hit with his legions of fans.
“He’s a loser, not a quitter, and he’ll go down fighting,” wrote the Disney company in its description of the beloved character on their website.

Who is Garfield the Cat?
www.choose-gifts.co.uk
Garfield is a fictional character and the main protagonist from the comic strip Garfield created by Jim Davis
He is a lazy, fat, selfish, orange, anthropomorphic tabby cat who enjoys eating (especially lasagna), sleeping, and tormenting his owner Jon and Odie the dog. He considers himself to be more intelligent than humans and other animals. He hates Mondays, and is often struck by bad luck in Monday comic strips. He enjoys performing at the convalescent home next to Jon’s house in the middle of the night, although he is usually booed at and bombarded with various objects.
He can’t stand spiders, and although he doesn’t chase mice (unless bribed to do so), he is often seen trying to eat birds. He frequently destroys Jon’s curtains and ferns, as well as the flowerbeds of Jon and their neighbor, Mrs. Feeny. He detests being taken to the vet, and usually tries to hide from Jon when informed or if he has a “feeling”.
Jim Davis named Garfield after his grandfather, James Garfield Davis, who was named after President James A. Garfield

Who is Winnie the Pooh?
http://www.choose-gifts.co.uk/
We have a great selection of Winnie the Pooh figures & figurine so we thought a brief history of the character was in order.
Winnie the Pooh is a Walt Disney Company franchise, based on animated fictional characters who have been featured as part of the Disney character line-up. The Winnie the Pooh franchise is based on the book by A.A. Milne. Winnie-the-Pooh (note the hyphenation), is the first volume of stories about a bear called Winnie-the-Pooh, by A. A. Milne, from 1926, upon which the franchise is based.
In 1961, Walt Disney Productions licensed certain film and other rights to the characters, stories and trademarks from Stephen Slesinger, Inc., and The Estate of A.A. Milne and made a series of cartoon films about him. The early cartoons were based on several of the original stories and the distinctive images made popular by Stephen Slesinger, Inc. during the 1930s through 1960s.
Disney’s storytelling style and characterisation have little in common with Milne’s tales, and were greatly disliked by the Milne family. Alongside the cartoon versions, which Disney adapted from Slesinger, Slesinger’s simplified lines and pastel color adaptations of Shepard’s classical drawings are now marketed under the description “Classic Pooh”.
In 1977, Disney released the animated feature The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, introducing a new character named Gopher, which Disney acknowledged by having Gopher proclaim, “I’m not in the book, you know!” This movie features three segments that were originally released separately as featurettes: Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966), Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (1968), and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too (1974). This feature version featured new bridging material and a new ending, as it had been Walt Disney’s original intention to make a feature. In 1983, a fourth featurette, Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore, was released

The History of Betty Boop
http://www.choose-gifts.co.uk/
Betty Boop is an animated cartoon character designed by Grim Natwick, appearing in the Talkartoon and Betty Boop series of films produced by Max Fleischer and released by Paramount Pictures.
With her overt sexual appeal, Betty was a hit with filmgoers, and despite having been toned down in the mid-1930s, she remains very popular today. She has been featured in two different comic strips, one in the 1930s and another in the 1980s.
We have a huge selection of Betty Boop figures, figurines & canvas prints. Shortly we shall be adding a new collection of Betty Boop handbags. You can go directly to our Betty Boop figures & figurines by clicking the link below:
